SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by the wife of an individual residing at BDC Resettlement Scheme, Kuching seeking for assistance to find out the status of her husband’s application for financial assistance in the form of invalidity pension from SOCSO (Social Security Organization)[or PERKESO (Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial)] . The individual concerned is married with three children and the wife is unemployed.
The individual concerned was involved in a hit and run accident resulting in him being bedridden and paralysed from the waist down and is unable to provide for the living expenses of his family.
The wife of the individual concerned requested for assistance to speed up her husband’s application which was made three months earlier for financial aid from SOCSO as her husband is the sole breadwinner of her family.
SUPP PCB have now highlighted and brought the matter up to the attention of SOCSO and have requested SOCSO to urgently and promptly process the application of the individual concerned for financial assistance.
Since most people are not familiar with SOCSO, SUPP PCB would like to inform the general public that SOCSO was incorporated by the Government to provide assistance both medically and financially to employees that have had their abilities reduced or incapacitated due to accidents or diseases. SOCSO also provide assistance to dependents of employees if they die through pensions.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau is always ready to lend a helping hand to the anyone facing problems or who come across problems of public interest but does not know how to deal with it. Anyone requiring assistance can always call SUPP Public Complaint’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or go direct to SUPP Head Office to request for assistance.
