SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap together with SUPP members recently went back to visit an individual residing at BDC Resettlement Scheme, Kuching to inform him that SOCSO had approved his medical compensation of RM29,979.84 and invalidity pension of RM16.32 per day.
The wife of individual concerned had earlier in December 2016 asked for assistance on the status of his application for financial assistance in the form of medical compensation and invalidity pension from SOCSO (Social Security Organization)[or PERKESO (Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial)].
The individual concerned had been involved in a hit and run accident resulting in him being bedridden and paralysed from the waist down and is unable to provide for the living expenses of his family as he is the sole breadwinner of his family.
Since most people are not familiar with SOCSO, SUPP PCB would like to inform the general public that SOCSO was incorporated by the Government to provide assistance both medically and financially to employees that have had their abilities reduced or incapacitated due to accidents or diseases. SOCSO also provide assistance to dependents of employees if they die through pensions.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau is always ready to lend a helping hand to the anyone facing problems or who come across problems of public interest but does not know how to deal with it. Anyone requiring assistance can always call SUPP Public Complaint’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or go direct to SUPP Head Office to request for assistance.
