SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by the business owners at Taman Desa Paul, 6th Mile, Penrissen Road, Kuching who complained to him of three (3) abandoned motor vehicles.
The three (3) abandoned vehicles was causing a nuisance to them by taking up valuable parking spaces meant for their customers and was also preventing the road contractor recently awarded the tar sealing improvement works by Padawan Municipal Council to completely tar seal the road in front of the shophouses resulting in an uneven road condition which was unsightly and creating an eyesore which can also encourage vandalism and arson.
Following the requests for assistance received, Wilfred Yap had gone to inspect and assess the situation together with enforcement officers of Padawan Municipal Council and also to see what can be done to resolve the problem raised by them. It was discovered during the inspection that the three (3) abandoned motor vehicles did not have any valid road tax.
SUPP PCB Chief, Wilfred Yap would like to thank the enforcement officers from Padawan Municipal Council for their speedy action in issuing removal notices to the owners of the abandoned vehicles. In the event the abandoned vehicles are not removed within the stipulated time, the enforcement officers assured that they will be removed with the cost of removal to be borne by the abandoned vehicle owners.
Wilfred Yap would like to advise the public to cooperate and be considerate in future and not to leave or abandon their motor vehicles on council property.
