SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap has been receiving complaints from the residents of Jalan Semaba on sloppy workmanship of resurfacing works carried out by the contractor appointed by Kuching Water Board.
After the complaints were received, a meeting was arranged by YB Lo Khere Chiang and SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief Wilfred Yap which was attended by the representatives from the resident community association of Jalan Semaba, officers from Kuching Water Board and the contractor appointed by KWB to carry out the resurfacing works at Jalan Semaba.
During the meeting, the sloppy workmanship and unsatisfactory resurfacing works of the appointed KWB contractor and the lack of adequate proper supervision by KWB officers was expressly brought to their attention. Both YB Lo Khere Chiang and Wilfred Yap had also during the meeting gave stern warnings to the KWB contractor and officers from KWB to buck up to ensure compliance with the terms of the contract document.
Both YB Lo Khere Chiang and Wilfred Yap also made it very clear during the meeting to the KWB contractor that they would both recommend for the blacklisting of the KWB contractor during the next Kuching Water Board meeting in the event the remedial works are not done and completed to the satisfaction of the Jalan Semaba residents in accordance with the contract document.
The appointed KWB contractor during the meeting requested for time to carry out the remedial works and the Jalan Semaba resident community association representatives agreed to the KWB contractor’s request. Residents from Jalan Semaba are invited to give their feedback on the remedial works of the appointed KWB contractor.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap is therefore disappointed with the recent childish and unsubstantiated statement in the press on the matter by Abdul Aziz Isa, special assistant to West Malaysian DAP Sarawak Chairman YB Chong Chieng Jen. SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap hopes that Abdul Aziz Isa would get his facts right before making baseless wild accusations and come up with positive suggestions instead of seeking cheap publicity. The public can rest assured that Wilfred Yap will never compromise the community’s entitlement to good services.
