SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by the residents of Lorong 29 & 31, Stampin Resettlement Scheme during his regular “turun padang” activity to the area with SUPP members.
The residents had complained that the poor drainage condition was blocking the flow of water causing in a stagnant pond and flash flooding when it rains. As such, the residents had requested for clearing and improvement works to be carried out on the earth drains to prevent flash flooding.
Following the request for assistance received, Wilfred Yap together with other SUPP members had gone to inspect and assess the situation and also to see what can be done to quickly resolve the problem. The matter was immediately highlighted and brought up to the attention of Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan (MBKS).
SUPP PCB Chief, Wilfred Yap have now been informed by MBKS that they have instructed their workers to carry the drain clearing works at Lorong 29 & 31, Stampin Resettlement Scheme.
SUPP PCB Chief, Wilfred Yap will continue to follow up and monitor the clearing works on the drains at Lorong 29 & 31 until all the works are completed to the satisfaction of all parties.
Again efforts are being made by SUPP Public Complaints Bureau to bring the matter of the poor condition of the earth drains at Stampin Resettlement Scheme to the attention of the relevant authorities and hopes that the request by the residents will be solved gradually and systematically by the relevant authorities.
