SUPP PUBLIC COMPLAINTS BUREAU PRESS RELEASE

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently informed by frustrated residents and business owners of MJC Batu Kawah New Township of the repeated and rampant indiscriminate disposal of trading, commercial and household waste at the rubbish dumping holding area at the back of the shophouses.

SUPP PCB Chief Wilfred Yap together with staff from Padawan Municipal Council (PMC) and Trienekens had gone to inspect and assess the situation. The complaints arise because the people throwing the waste are not throwing it properly into the rubbish bins provided by Trienekens which causes the surrounding areas to be smelly and unsightly.

This issue of the unsightly and smelly rubbish is a long outstanding problem which requires permanent solution as PMC and Trienekens have already on many occasions clean up the indiscriminate rubbish area only to see the same problem occurring.

The issue of making sure that the waste is properly thrown into rubbish bins lies with the management corporation, business owners and residents of MJC Batu Kawah New Township.

Instead of relying wholly on PMC and Trienekens for cleanliness of the rubbish dumping holding area, SUPP PCB Chief Wilfred Yap hopes that the management corporation, residents and business owners of MJC Batu Kawah New Township to be proactive in the cleanliness of their own business and residential area and together with PMC build a beautiful, clean and sustainable commercial and residential area.

SUPP PCB Chief Wilfred Yap hopes that the public is aware that indiscriminately dumping rubbish costs rate payers a lot of money each year in removal charges.

SUPP PCB Chief Wilfred Yap hopes that the public will play their role by assisting PMC through reporting or lodging a complaint if they see anyone indiscriminately dumping rubbish. The public can report to PMC or the management corporation the offenders who dispose rubbish indiscriminately by giving information such as the registration number of the offender’s vehicle, location, date, time, description of rubbish and description of offender. A photo of the offender of illegal rubbish dumping taken from a hand phone will be very effective in identifying the offender.

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau is always ready to assist the public and lend a helping hand to the anyone facing problems or who come across problems of public interest but does not know how to deal with it. Anyone requiring assistance can always call SUPP Public Complaint Bureau’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or go direct to SUPP Head Office to request for assistance.
