SUPP PUBLIC COMPLAINTS BUREAU PRESS RELEASE

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap is frequently  approached by the public during his regular “turun padang” activity who complain about poor maintenance and the unkempt grass  along the verges of Jalan Tun Jugah which happens to be a federal protocol road.

SPCB Chief, Wilfred Yap hopes that the Public Works Department (JKR) will prioritise the maintenance of Jalan Tun Jugah despite the cut in the federal government’s allocation for the maintenance of federal roads. This is because Jalan Tun Jugah is most frequently used by tourists travelling to Kuching City from Kuching Internaional Airport and a poorly maintained road together with overgrown weeds along the verges is an eyesore and gives a bad first impression to tourists.

The public have also expressed their dissatisfaction that the federal government have slashed the budget for the Public Works Department (JKR) to maintain federal roads in Sarawak considering the fact that Sarawak has been amongst the largest contributors to the federal government coffer in terms of revenue collection particularly from oil and gas revenue and collection of taxes. As such, Sarawak deserves a bigger and additional federal government allocation for road maintenance.

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief Wilfred Yap and SUPP members of Kota Sentosa Branch shall also continue to serve as the eyes and ears of our community to ensure that issues affecting our community are attended to. Wilfred Yap will also continue to highlight and try to resolve issues of public interest affecting them.

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau is always ready to lend a helping hand to the anyone facing  problems or who come across problems of public interest but does not know how to deal with it. Anyone requiring assistance can always call SUPP Public Complaint’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or go direct to SUPP Head Office to request for assistance.
