Statement from SUPP Central Publicity
On 26th November 2014, Sibu High Court ruled that our comrade Teng Ung Woo has to pay RM200,000 in damages plus costs of RM35,000 to Wong Ling Biu in a defamation suit. Our views are as follows:
(1) We respect the decision of Sibu High Court.
(2)We have instructed our counsel Mr David Kuok to file an appeal to the Court of Appeal.
(3) We will start a fund raising campaign to raise at least RM200,000 to pay to the plaintiff and for the legal fees. Therefore, we are hopeful and urge that all the 47 branches in our party will participate enthusiastically in the fund raising campaign .
(4) We must say that Comrade Teng Ung Woo, who is also the Secretary of our Central Youth section is not alone. All the leaders and party members are with him.
(5) As the case is in process of appeal to the Court of Appeal, the case is subjudice and there will be no further comments from us
