SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap have recently been receiving numerous complaints from the public on illegal rubbish dumping in their area and seeking assistance from SUPP PCB to request the relevant authorities to remove the illegally dumped waste.
Due to the complaints received, Wilfred Yap together with a staff from Majlis Perbandaran Padawan (MPP) and a representative from Trienekens Sdn Bhd made a working visit to two illegal dumping hotspots at Jalan Kong Ping Ulu and Jalan Rantau Panjang, Batu Kawa.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau would like to remind the public that environment preservation and protection is everybody’s problem and not just the problem of MPP or Trienekens. This is because the clearing or removal of illegally dumped waste by MPP and Trienekens costs the ratepayers of MPP thousands of ringgits each year which money could be better spent on community development in the area.
Arrangements are now being made by MPP and Trienekens to clean up both illegal rubbish dump sites at Jalan Kong Ping Ulu and Jalan Rantau Panjang, Batu Kawa.
To help address the issue and reduce illegal dumping, SUPP PCB hopes that the public instead of just complaining will also assist the local Council of catching the culprits of illegal dumping. The public can give information such as registration number of the offender’s vehicle, location, date and time and description of rubbish.
If the public sees an offence of illegal dumping being committed, the public can easily take a photo of the culprit or the culprit’s motor vehicle and send the photo to SUPP PCB’s mobile number at 016-7797688 with particulars or go direct to SUPP Head Office to request for assistance.
