SUPP PUBLIC COMPLAINT BUREAU (SPCB) PRESS RELEASE

Datuk Seri Michael Chong of MCA Public Complaints Department recently requested SUPP Public Complaints Bureau to give assistance to a West Malaysian lady who had complained to him that she was facing problems in taking back a car that was purchased in Sarawak using her name and in collecting back some monies that she said she had advanced to the individual concerned.

The west Malaysian lady concerned had initially approached Datuk Seri Michael Chong but as the car concerned is in Sarawak and the individual concerned is staying in Sarawak, Datuk Seri Michael Chong decided that it would be easier for SUPP Public Complaints Bureau to assist the lady in solving the alleged problem that she was facing.

From the interview carried out by SPCB Chief, Wilfred Yap with the lady who flew in from West Malaysia and the individual concerned, it was discovered that the West Malaysian lady and the individual knows each other and were friends and the West Malaysian lady’s complaints arose from some misunderstanding between both of them. SPCB Chief Wilfred Yap tried his best to mediate between the two and even drafted a Deed of Settlement and Agreement to have the matter settled amicably between the two but during the last minute, the West Malaysian lady decided not to sign.

SUPP PCB would like to inform the public that it does not handle matters of personal misunderstanding between individuals as it is not within the scope of service or objectives of the setting up of SUPP PCB. In this case, SPCB Chief Wilfred Yap merely tried to assist as it was a case referred to by Datuk Seri Michael Chong.

On another unrelated matter, SPCB was also approached by some individuals seeking legal advice on some probate matters. SPCB Chief, Wilfred Yap took time to explain to them the process involved in applying for letters of administration.

SPCB would like to inform the public that if they have any questions regarding probate matters or application for letter of administration should directly contact Amanah Raya Berhad, Cawangan Sarawak situate at  No. 11F, Tingkat Bawah-Tingkat 3, Lot 531 Section 6 KTLD, Jalan Kulas, 93400 Kuching and Amanah Raya Berhad’s  telephone contact is 082-254171.

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau is always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone facing genuine problems or who come across problems but does not know how to deal with it. Anyone requiring assistance can always call SUPP Public Complaint’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or go direct to SUPP Head Office during office hours to request for assistance.
