The SUPP Public Complaints Bureau was recently approached by the shop owners of 3rd Mile Bazaar, Kuching who complained of the uneven road condition in the area of their business premises.
The problem has now been solved by MPP road maintenance division who have since resurfaced the various sections of the road affected.
The shop owners also complained about illegal hawkers trading in the car park areas of 3rd Mile Bazaar resulting in their customers not having access to parking and consequently they complained that they were losing customers as these customers would go elsewhere when they cannot find parking.
There was a suggestion put forward by the shop owners requesting MPP to create two sessions of hawkers for 3rd Mile Bazaar Market whereby one group would trade in the morning until 1.00 p.m and another group will take over to trade in the afternoon from 2.00 p.m.
According to the shop owners, it will help solve the illegal hawker problem. The shop owners also informed that the current batch of hawkers on the ground floor of the 3rd Mile Bazaar Market only trade in the morning and is empty in the afternoon.
On the issue of illegal hawkers trading in 3rd Mile Bazaar and the shop owner’s suggestion requesting MPP to authorize two session of hawkers to trade in the 3rd Mile Bazaar Market, SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap promised to bring this matter up in the next MPP Council meeting.
