The massive flash floods which took place in Penang recently have tragically resulted in the loss of a woman\u2019s life. Water reached nearly two metres at some areas and hundreds of homes were affected, cars that could not be moved to higher grounds on time were soaked in the water, many more victims were forced to take shelter at relief centres.<\/p>\n

Not only that, the heavy downpour also triggered a landslide near an apartment where six cars were buried under mud, owners are unable to claim for losses because it is not covered by insurance. Meanwhile, there were a few other landslips on the road which caused the affected roads to be closed temporarily. Many victims claimed that it was the most severe flash flood they had ever seen in Penang and they feared there will be more.<\/p>\n

Some said, that rapid development which were not carefully planned in the state is the root cause to the severity of this flash flood and the DAP led state government should be held responsibility.<\/p>\n

We are so familiar with DAP\u2019s style of finger pointing politics, where their YBs or even \u2018potential candidates\u2019 so \u2018passionately\u2019 criticize the government, blaming the government for every bad thing that has ever happened, especially on accounts of flash floods.<\/p>\n

In this regard, SUPP\u2019s Public Complain Bureau Chief Wilfred Yap wishes to make clear, in the name of \u2018check and balance\u2019 as claimed by the DAP YBs, if they would criticize or question Penang\u2019s Chief Minister, who is also the party\u2019s Secretary General Lim Guan Eng\u2019s state development policies, just as fervently or passionately as they did to other BN component parties, such as SUPP?<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t forget, this is your duty and you are obligated, as YBs who are elected by the people to represent them, to \u2018check and balance\u2019 Lim Guan Eng and his government\u2019s policies. I hope to see the same level of enthusiasm as you did to SUPP when you do.\u201d<\/p>\n
