SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by an individual\/father who informed him that the Police have charged his 24 year old daughter for a second drug possession related offence.<\/p>\n

The father concerned had informed SUPP PCB Chief, Wilfred Yap that his daughter have a mental health disorder problem and was incapable of rational decision making. The father also informed that her daughter have been\u00a0 receiving treatment from a government psychiatric hospital at\u00a0 Kota Sentosa even during the time when her daughter pleaded guilty to a drug related offence for the first time.<\/p>\n

According to the father, the daughter is currently serving a prison sentence for her previous drug related offence because the daughter’s mental health condition was not communicated to the police and that he cannot afford to pay for legal services. He also informed that his daughter is serving the prison sentence as he could\u00a0 not raise enough money to help her daughter pay the fine imposed by the Court.<\/p>\n

SUPP PCB Chief, Wilfred Yap empathize with the\u00a0 father on his predicament and concerns. The father was adviced to obtained a proper medical report from the government psychiatric hospital at\u00a0 Kota Sentosa on her daughter’s mental health condition and the treatment his daughter was receiving.\u00a0 The mental health condition of her daughter was immediately communicated by SUPP PCB Chief, Wilfred Yap to\u00a0 the police investigating officer and to the presiding Magistrate together with her medical report. The Magistrate Court have now made an Order under Section 342 Criminal Procedure Code for the man’s daughter to be sent to Kota Sentosa Hospital for one month for observation and opinion of her state of mind.<\/p>\n

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau would like to notify the public that they will try their best to give advice and lend a helping hand to\u00a0 individuals who might be facing similar problems but does not know how to deal with it provided\u00a0 it is a GENUINE PROBLEM.<\/p>\n
