SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached the residents staying at Lorong 10, Jalan Semaba. Their spokesperson surnamed Chong who spoke on their behalf complained of the dirty road condition due to earth filling works being carried out by the earthwork contractor.
Following the complaint and request for assistance received, Wilfred Yap had immediately highlighted and brought up to the attention of the Majlis Perbandaran Padawan (MPP) and together with officers from MPP’s Enforcement and Engineering Department went to inspect and assess the situation and also to see what can be done to quickly resolve the problem.
During the meeting at the site of the earth filling works, officers from the Enforcement Department of MPP communicated the complaints of the residents of Lorong 10 to the contractor of the earth filling works. The officers from MPP also instructed the contractor to clean up the road properly after every lorry load of earth is discharged at the site. The contractor during the meeting agreed and promised to immediately rectify the problem.
The officers from MPP Enforcement Department also informed that they will continue to monitor the situation. The officers from the Enforcement Department also gave a warning to the contractor that if the cleaning of road at Lorong 10, Jalan Semaba is not done properly, the appropriate legal action will be taken by MPP.
