SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by traders at Kota Sentosa Commercial area who requested for his assistance to replace a manhole and who also complained to him on grass growing on the road verges and rubbish causing blockage in the drains nearby the 7th Mile market.
Following the request for assistance received, Wilfred Yap also went to inspect and assess the situation with Penghulu Pui and Kapitan Thian together with officers of the public health section of MPP and also to see what can be done to resolve the problem raised by them.
The Workers from the engineering and road maintenance section of MPP have now replaced the manhole drain cover and officers from MPP is now in the process of getting their contractor to clear the grass of the road verge and also to clear the rubbish in the drains.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap would like to thank officers from MPP for their speedy action in solving the problem and would like to advise the traders and business owners there to cooperate and be considerate in future and not to throw any rubbish or organic material into the drain to prevent the blockage of the drains from occurring.
From his observation, SUPP PCB Chief Wilfred Yap also hopes that shophouse owners in Kota Sentosa area would comply with building by-laws and would only carry out renovation works like covering up drains with cement after obtaining approval from MPP as this would prevent uneven levels of drains which would disrupt water flow and thereby cause blockage.
