SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by a woman residing at BDC Resettlement Scheme, Kuching seeking for assistance to find out the status of her application for financial assistance in the form of invalidity pension from SOCSO (Social Security Organization)[or PERKESO (Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial)] . The woman concerned is suffering from blindness caused by her sickness and is unable to continue working.
The woman concerned requested for assistance from SUPP Public Complaints Bureau to inquire on the status of her application and also for SOCSO to speed up her application for financial assistance (invalidity pension) which was made a few months earlier.
SUPP PCB have now highlighted and brought the matter up to the attention of SOCSO and have requested SOCSO to urgently/promptly process and approve the application for financial assistance (invalidity pension) of the woman concerned.
Since most people are not familiar with SOCSO, SUPP PCB would like to inform the general public that SOCSO was incorporated by the Government to provide assistance both medically and financially to employees that have had their abilities reduced or incapacitated due to accidents or diseases. SOCSO also provide assistance to dependents of employees if they die through pensions.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau is always ready to lend a helping hand to the anyone facing problems or who come across problems of public interest but does not know how to deal with it. Anyone requiring assistance can always call SUPP Public Complaint’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or go direct to SUPP Head Office to request for assistance.
