SUPP Public Complaints Bureau was recent approached by a man living in Batu Kitang who was facing problems applying for Birth Certificates for his son and daughter as he has never registered his marriage to an Indonesian woman who have since returned to Indonesia. The man’s son is already nine years old and his daughter seven, both unable to enroll in School as they do not have a Birth Certificate.
The anxious father decided to seek help and advice from SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap after reading in the newspapers about the Bureau assisting the public on problems they face.
The Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap have since arranged for an interview for the man and his two children with the National Registration Department, Sarawak to see how the predicament facing this man can be solved and for birth certificates issued to his son and daughter.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau would like to remind the public that there are many couples who might be facing similar problems but does not know how to deal with it. The Bureau is always ready to lend a helping hand to those in trouble, provided it is a genuine case.
