SUPP PUBLIC COMPLAINTS BUREAU PRESS RELEASE

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by a man who was facing a problem in the enrolment of his son (a non-citizen) into Primary One of a Government National Type Chinese School in Kuching. His predicament arose due to the late registration of his marriage to his Indonesian wife. He also requested for assistance on behalf of his friend who is also facing the same predicament as him.

As the school session for 2015 have already started, the anxious father and his friend decided to seek help and advice from SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap after reading in the newspapers about SUPP Public Complaints Bureau assisting the public on all type of problems the public are facing.

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief Wilfred Yap promised to assist and has approach the officer concerned at the Education Department to find out the root cause of the problem and to assess the situation. A letter of support has also been written to the Education Department on behalf of the anxious father and his friend to appeal for an early approval.

The problem faced by the anxious father and his friend is actually caused by their misunderstanding on the procedures involved in the application for enrolment of non-citizen child into Government National Type Schools and the complete documents required in their application which has recently only been rectified.

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau would like to notify and advice that couples with children who are not citizens but whose father is a Malaysian Citizen to make their application for enrolment of their child into primary one of Government National Type Schools for the school session starting next year (2016) early or as soon as possible. Application Forms can be collected at the local Education Department District office. SUPP Public Complaints Bureau is always ready to explain the procedure involved and lend a helping hand to them in their application. Anyone requiring assistance can always call SUPP Public Complaint’s mobile number at 016-7797688 or 082-246999 or go direct to SUPP Head Office to request for assistance.
