Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Batu Kawa Branch will continue to serve the rakyat in fighting for development projects despite losing the seat in the last State election.
SUPP Batu Kawa Branch Secretary, Lim Ah Ted said this while he went for a walkabout in the Batu Kawa area with President of the party Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian and Branch Chairman, Tan Joo Phoi yesterday morning.
Lim said when Batu Kawa was under SUPP, a great number of projects was implemented from water and electricity supply, telecommunication services, upgrading gravel road to tar sealed road.
Due to the defeat of SUPP, some of these projects came to a standstill.
He said due to Batu Kawa being a huge area, Lim said there were some places of only 10 families thus implementation of development and infrastructure projects would be hindered but the party will always tried their best to ensure that even the minority population will be served.
SUPP Batu Kawa is concerned over this issue, said Lim who added among the completed project were Batu Kawa Sadong Bridge which costs 6milloins, tar sealed country road and water supply.
“Issues concerning livelihood of the peoples must not be affected by political changes. SUPP Batu Kawa will continue assisting the people in development project,” he vowed.
Lim said their branch had also proposed to widen the road pavement, have more street lighting and road upgradings when the hear the grouses from the residents. SUPP Batu Kawa Branch, he assured, will also follow up on those uncompleted project.
